These instructions are for configuring the wireless network on the Chromebook operating system.
- In the list of wireless networks on your device, 2 available networks should appear: “eduroam” and “tecnico-guest“.
- Choose the “tecnico-guest” network. Once connected, access our page and download the Instituto Superior Técnico Certificate
- Open the Chrome browser and go to “Settings“, then “Privacy and Security” and select “Security“.
- Select “Manage certificates” and enter the “Authorities” tab. Select the “Import” option and select the downloaded certificate. You must select the 3 trust options.
- Restart your computer.
- Then, access the menu again that has available wireless networks. Choose the “eduroam” network to connect. Fill in the following fields (possibly some of them are found in the “Advanced” tab):
- EAP Method (EAP Method): PEAP
- Identity (Identity) – istxxxxx@tecnico.ulisboa.pt, where istxxxxx corresponds to your Técnico ID
- Password (Password) – password corresponding to your Technical ID
- CA certificate: the certificate you installed
- Phase 2 authentication – MSCHAPv2
- Anonymous identity – anonymous@tecnico.ulisboa.pt
- Click “Connect“. The “eduroam” wireless network must be configured on your device.
