The email service was unavailable between 00:05 and 19:25 today, November 2, 2021.
The cause of the problem is related to data corruption, caused by a hardware failure in a disk system that affected thousands of mailboxes. Despite the multiple levels of redundancy that the mail solution has, data recovery required the use of the last 24-hour backup.
We apologize for the inconvenience caused. We are continuing to investigate the source of the problem.
Our e-mail mailbox server has now a mechanism to fight against e-mail account abuse. This mechanism was implement so we can avoid that user abuse of this service to do mass mailing which normally puts our e-mail servers on SPAM Black Lists, also known as SBLs.
You can send messages up to 25 megabytes (MB) in size. If you would like to send attachments that are larger than this, please use “FileSender” from FCCN service .
Since the creation of the new domain @tecnico.ulisboa.pt the e-mail addresses of Técnico have been transferred to xxxxxxxxxx@tecnico.ulisboa.pt which means that the addresses remain basically the same, just the domain changes.
In order to use the new domain @tecnico.ulisboa.pt, you must reconfigure or update your account settings. Please follow the steps included at Computer and Network Services Support.
