Requirements:

• Before beginning a copy of your files, please always check if you have space in your PC’s storage for all the files.
• After copying the files, please ensure that you have a local copy before deleting them from the cloud.

Windows:

You may copy your files:

• using the OneDrive app, or
• through the onedrive.com website.

OneDrive App

• Select the OneDrive icon in the taskbar: 

• Settings
• Account
  • Choose folder (all files are selected)
• Sync and backup:
  • Advanced Settings
  •  
    • Download all the files.

• When every file is green, this means that they are all locally stored in your PC.
• After downloading, you should always open the OneDrive folder and check if there is a local copy (or if the cloud symbol showing that they were not downloading.
• We recommend that you make a copy of every folder to a local disk before deleting in the Microsoft cloud to avoid file loss during the next syncing process.

• Select “My files” (on the left)
• Select the folders
• Click on the right mouse button and then “Download”
• A .zip file is transfered to a local machine (OneDrive can be in another PC, since this operation is done remotely).

Linux:

OneDrive (APT package)

• Download the OneDrive client for Linux via APT, which syncs files between the cloud and the local system without modifying data in the cloud, when using “download-only” mode.

Rclone (advanced users)

• Tool to manage and sync files between the cloud and the local system while safeguarding source data.
