Normally, the e-mail account is activated when registering any new IST student.
Community linked to IST
Since 2006 the entire community linked to IST (Teachers, Employees, Researchers, Scholarship Holders, and other collaborators) has had access to a Técnico email address, after the beginning of activities related to the link established with IST.
IST users that do not have an e-mail account can activate their account on the self-service page or issue the respective request, by sending an email to email@example.com, with the name and the user’s IST ID.
An external or invited person, with an invitation for temporary access to computer services, should go to the DSI reception to activate the e-mail account.
